Still lifes are born in the periphery

Uncertain Edges

Ground Collective is back at it with an exhibition on the coast this time. Ground Collective's interest lies in finding objects and making observations from everyday landscapes traveled through, reconfiguring these discoveries into artworks, performances, poems and installations. They celebrate a slowing down and a closer scrutiny of things that are overlooked or forgotten.

It's in the periphery where the still lifes are born.

We care about the things that are close to us. And this care is not only limited to our loved ones, pets and plants. We have a close relationship with the so called inanimate things. Many of us bring pebles from the beach to our homes, have a favourite glass to drink from and are frustrated and sad when a precious object scatters on the floor.
